Terms of Use

Last updated: September 12, 2026

Welcome to TripDex, operated by Sven Geslin, trading as NordVoxe ("TripDex", "we", "us"), an individual entrepreneur (auto-entrepreneur) registered in France (SIREN 944 697 713), 61 rue de Lyon, 75012 Paris, France. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms of use. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Eligibility and age. You must be at least 16 years old to use TripDex. By checking the box at sign-up, you confirm you meet this requirement; we do not independently verify your age beyond this declaration. If we become aware that an account belongs to someone under 16, we will suspend or delete it. This 16-year threshold is a condition of using our service, set by us — it is separate from, and does not itself determine, what age of "digital consent" applies to you under the data protection law of your country of residence for the purposes of our Privacy Policy.

Account. You agree to provide accurate information when signing up, to keep your credentials confidential, and to use one account per person. You are responsible for any activity under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately (see "Contact us") and use the password reset option in the app. We do not currently offer a way to remotely sign out other devices signed into your account — if your credentials may be compromised, resetting your password is the most effective step you can take.

Acceptable use. TripDex is intended for genuine discovery, scanning, and sharing of places. The following are prohibited: harassment, threats, and hateful language; posting illegal content; spam or fraud; impersonating another person; fabricating discoveries or falsifying the location of a scan; creating multiple accounts to evade limits, bans, or moderation; artificially manipulating likes, followers, or scan counts; scraping the service or using unauthorized bots or automation; attempting to exploit bugs, bypass usage quotas, or circumvent restrictions; and attempting to access another user's account or data without authorization. We may investigate and take proportionate action — up to and including account termination — for any violation.

User content and license. You retain ownership of the photos and content you create. By publishing them, you grant TripDex a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license — limited to what's needed to operate the service (hosting, technical reproduction, display, and distribution within the app's social features: feed, profiles, map, published discoveries, and the technical backups necessary to run the service reliably) — to host and display this content. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that persist briefly in technical backups or that we're legally required to keep. You are solely responsible for your content. By publishing, you confirm that you own it or have the necessary rights and permissions to share it, that it doesn't infringe any third party's rights (including copyright and image rights of people who appear in your photos), and that it doesn't violate these terms or applicable law.

Moderation. Photos you scan are automatically screened by an AI model for nudity, sexual content, graphic violence, and obscene material before you can proceed. Captions, comments, usernames, and bios are automatically screened against a filtered list of prohibited terms — no filter is perfect, and some content may occasionally pass through unfiltered or be blocked in error. Other users can report content or accounts they believe violate these terms; reports are reviewed manually, not on a guaranteed timeline. We reserve the right to remove content, limit its visibility, or suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation.

Reporting and blocking. You can report content or an account directly from the app. You can block another account at any time; blocking removes their content from your feed, comments, likes, and profile visibility in both directions, and prevents new follow requests, comments, or likes between both accounts. Blocking does not retroactively notify the other person.

Intellectual property. TripDex's brand, design, code, and interface remain our property. AI-generated historical facts and descriptions are provided for informational use within the app; we don't claim ownership over the underlying historical facts themselves (which are, by nature, not ownable), only over their specific presentation within TripDex. Content you publish remains your property, subject to the license above.

AI-generated information. Historical facts, descriptions, and place identifications in TripDex are generated or assisted by artificial intelligence. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or occasionally entirely wrong (including inventing a name or fact that sounds plausible but isn't real), and do not constitute a verified historical, touristic, safety, or any other authoritative source. Do not rely on this information for safety, medical, legal, financial, or other high-stakes decisions — verify anything important against a reliable source.

Availability. We aim to keep TripDex available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. The service depends on third parties we don't control (Apple/App Store, our hosting and AI providers, your mobile network), and may be affected by maintenance, outages, or factors beyond our control.

Third-party services. TripDex relies on third-party providers to operate: Apple (App Store, purchases), Supabase (hosting, database, storage, authentication), Google (AI-based place identification and photo moderation; place-name lookups are also cross-checked against OpenStreetMap data), RevenueCat (subscription management), a push notification provider, and Sentry (crash and error reporting). Each is subject to its own terms, which may apply to your use of related features.

Purchases and subscriptions. All purchases made through the app — auto-renewable subscriptions (Premium, Premium Plus, billed monthly or yearly) and one-time purchases (such as scan packs) — are processed and billed by Apple through the App Store, using the payment method on file with your Apple ID; TripDex never receives or stores your payment details. Subscriptions are billed at the price and cycle shown at the time of purchase and renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage or cancel a subscription anytime in your Apple ID account settings. One-time purchases (scan packs) are billed once, are not subscriptions, and are added to your account immediately upon purchase. TripDex does not currently offer a free trial; if one is introduced, its terms will be disclosed at the time of the offer. Under Apple's standard App Store terms, Apple is the merchant of record for every purchase made through the app; refunds are accordingly granted and processed by Apple under Apple's own refund policy (reportaproblem.apple.com), not by TripDex directly — we do not have the technical ability to issue a refund ourselves, and this includes credits already added to your account from a one-time purchase. This does not affect any statutory right you may have that cannot be excluded by these terms. We may change prices for future billing periods with reasonable notice; a change never applies retroactively to a period you've already paid for.

Account deletion and termination. You can delete your account at any time from the app; see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, with notice proportionate to the severity of the violation. Deleting your account removes your published content from the service; it does not retroactively undo interactions other users already had with it (e.g., a comment you replied to may remain visible without your reply) except as described in the Privacy Policy.

Indemnification. You agree to indemnify TripDex against claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from content you publish in violation of a third party's rights or of these terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law and without prejudice to any consumer protection you're entitled to.

Warranties and liability. The app is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by applicable law. To the extent permitted by law, TripDex shall not be liable for indirect damages resulting from use of the service, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including, for consumers, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

Governing law and disputes. These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute that isn't resolved informally through our support (see "Contact us") is subject to the jurisdiction of the competent French courts. If you're a consumer, nothing in these terms deprives you of the protection granted by the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your own country of residence, including your right to bring proceedings before the courts of that country where applicable law grants you that right.

Changes. We may update these terms; any material change will be notified within the app.
